Kids are a big part of who we are here at Shelby Alliance. Our kid’s ministry will provide your kids with friend groups, fun, hands-on activities, age-appropriate teaching, worship, and more for kiddos from birth through 5th grade. We focus on helping them have fun and feel loved while introducing them to the wonder of God.
At Shelby Alliance we believe that how we receive the little children is how we receive Christ. For that reason, kids are centred in our community. Learn more here about what exactly means.

Join us for Awana every Wednesday evening at 5:45 during the school year, where kids can learn about Jesus and the Bible in a safe and interactive environment. Our dedicated teachers use engaging lessons, activities, and games to help kids grow in their understanding of God's love and plan for their lives.
Kids can worship and learn in a kid-friendly setting during our Children's Church services Sundays at 10am. With age-appropriate music, lessons, and activities, children can encounter Jesus in a way that's relevant and meaningful to them.
We’ve curated a safe and serene space for the most vulnerable members of our community. Our nursery is a great place for those 3 years and below.
Throughout the year, we host special events and activities for families with kids! From our annual family camp event to quarterly family events. There's always something fun happening for kids at Shelby Alliance.

Visiting us for the first time? No fear! Our friendly VIP host will show you where our Kids Check-In is when you arrive. We will meet your family, check your child into class, and answer any questions you may have. We can't wait to meet you!
Volunteers at Shelby Alliance Church are trained to create an atmosphere where families can confidently leave their children while they are in service. Every volunteer is screened with a background check, attended for minimum of six months, interviewed by ministry leader and an elder, camera surveillance, and the kids hallway is monitored during service. Don't worry parents - we've got this!
THE GOSPEL DEFINES OUR IDENTITY
We help kids fall so in love with Jesus that they never want to spend a day without Him.
What if Sunday morning was just the starting point? Our teaching sparks curiosity and guides children on a journey of faith through the wonder of God.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Our curriculum is based on four core values:
• God Knows Me
• Jesus Loves Me
• The Holy Spirit Leads Me
• I Am a Child of God
The weekly lessons are enriched with these values—giving kids space to fully discover their place in God’s Big Story and resulting in an understanding of how their lives can tell the world of His wonder.
This curriculum takes kids through the entire Bible in three years. Each year encompasses major Bible stories grouped into themed series, balancing each year with Old Testament and New Testament stories, and connecting the Bible as a whole. It even includes special Christmas and Easter series that clearly connect the Old Testament to the New Testament in God’s Big Story!
Rooted in the biblical truth that our identity is found in God’s Big Story—where Jesus is Lord and the Holy Spirit is present—We make room for the big (and sometimes hard) questions kids have while leaving no doubt about who God is or who we are in Him.
